In “SPACE O DIZZY,” B-Floor and Wangnin Bunmei will take elements from the cities of Tokyo and Bangkok to create an ‘unidentified place’, to present the cities in a strange yet familiar light, sharing with the audience their perspective on their cities – and the transformations they have undergone.
Wangnin Bunmei is known for its creative staging of music, idiosyncratic butoh and dance style and its zest for engaging audiences. Coupled with B-Floor’s taste for creating movement and multimedia-based productions that stimulate social and political awareness, the two groups will present the uniqueness of spaces in cities in original imageries weaved by live music, dance and physical theatre.
A team of Thai artists of various disciplines also join this production. Visual artist Kornkrit Jianpinitnand, who is interested in the subject of city and dislocation, will design the stage installation, motion graphic artist Taechit Jiropaskosol will join to create interesting visuals. Guest performers include two B-Floor founding members, Silpathorn award-wining artist Sineenadh Keitprapai and Bandit Kaewwanna; as well as emerging director Nophand Boonyai. Musicians, apart from the four-lady band of Wangnin Bunmei, from the Thai side will have Toey from Silverblack and Pornchanok Kanchanabanka.
